Once again, Scheck Hillel Community School’s boys’ varsity soccer team made the community proud this week. Although Thursday’s state semi-finals game wasn't a win, we won BIG with the pride we have for our team: 2014 Regional Champions.
The team culminated its amazing season with an unbelievable competition watched live by hundreds of fans in the stands at the game, fellow students and faculty and staff cheering from campus on Apple TVs, and families and friends online from offices, homes and phones worldwide.
The Hurricanes were down 3-1in the second half and then scored 3 goals by Albert Dichy, Grade 11, and Leon Almosny, Grade 10, to lead by 1. With 1:07 left in regulation, First Academy scored to tie the game. In overtime, First Academy scored to win by one with only 63 seconds left. With a final score of 3-4, we wrapped up our #roadtostates and returned home as 2014 Regional Champions. We couldn't be prouder of our boys!
