The chips were flying last night at Scheck Hillel Community School’s 10th Annual Poker Tournament. More than 100 players came out to Mardi Gras Casino in support of Scheck Hillel’s Kulanu Scholarship Fund. Ronny Koen, a new parent whose children will join us for the 2014-15 school year, and Scheck Hillel friend Avi Frier split the first and second place prizes. Scheck Hillel alumnus and dad Scott Weisblum (’92) came in third place. A very special mazel tov goes to Scheck Hillel great-grandmother Esther Shalom for placing 4th!
The tournament was a huge success, raising $45,000 for the Kulanu Scholarship Fund. We greatly appreciate the players, our event sponsors, event co-chairs and volunteers who helped support last night’s amazing event. A big thank you goes to the tournament’s title sponsor, Sapoznik Insurance. By giving to Kulanu, you played the best hand of all.
