Scheck Hillel’s Nurse, Dani Blank, paid a visit to Grade 5 science classes to teach our children easy ways to make healthier choices when they eat. Nurse Dani introduced Michelle Obama's MyPlate, which is part of the First Lady’s Let's Move campaign. By showing examples of a balanced plate at lunchtime, the Grade 5 students discovered what a true serving size really looks like. The students also learned the proper way to read food labels – a skill which will come in handy the next time they accompany a parent to the grocery store! "This was a terrific way for the students to apply science learning to their real life every day," said science teacher Michelle Binder. A special thanks to Nurse Dani for helping to keep our students healthy inside and out!
