This week our Grade 8 students left for Washington, D.C. to explore all of the monuments, memorials and history that the Nation's Capital has to offer.

After arriving in DC on Tuesday, April 14, the students headed straight for the Capitol Building to delve into a special visit with Congressman Carlos Curbelo. They got the chance to gather and reflect on the Capitol lawn, as well as visit the Lincoln, Vietnam and Korean War Veterans memorials.

The next day was very meaningful, as students were given the opportunity to pay their respects at the Holocaust Memorial Museum just a day shy of Yom HaShoah. After a full day with a packed schedule, the class got a glimpse of Jewish life on a college campus at the University of Maryland’s Hillel House, followed by a night of bowling, pool and other fun activities!

The final day of their trip was spent touring the White House, the Washington Monument and all of the American history found within the Smithsonian’s National Museum.
