Shushan Purim sameach! What a festive, joyous time we shared today at Scheck Hillel Community School when we celebrated Purim beyachad, together. From a vibrant costume parade to bounce houses, from a talent show to color war, it was a fun-filled day on and beyond campus!
Incorporating last week’s lessons about the mitzvoth of Purim ( Reading of the Megillah, Mishloach Manot (Gift Exchange), Seudat Purim (Festive Meal) and Matanot l’Evyonim (Gifts to Poor)), Early Childhood Education-Grades 5 kicked-off the festivities with our annual Purim parade; parents, grandparents and faculty lined the circle beaming with nachat and flashing cameras! For the rest of the morning, Juda and Maria Diener Lower School students participated in different activities across campus like face-painting, bingo and Hamantanshen dipping.
Our Samuel and Henrietta Scheck Middle School students assembled for the annual ‘Scheck Hillel’s Got Talent’ talent show where several students showcased hidden talents. Break-dancing, a jazz performance, gymnastics, singing and juggling were a few of the highlights students were marveling over during the show. Our Ben Lipson Upper School headed off to T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park for its annual color war and some fun Purim activities.
