This was a big week for the Lions with many teams clinching wins on the road!

Girls' varsity soccer beat Archbishop Curley 4-0. After a scoreless first half, Ashley Stambouli (Grade 11) scored a goal with an assist by Naomi Kryss (Grade 9).  Other goals were scored by Ali Wolf (Grade 10), Nikki Scheck (Grade 12) and Brenda Jafif (Grade 9).

Earlier this week, the varsity boys' basketball team headed to Boca Raton to face Yeshiva, falling 57-48. Jack Kaswan (Grade 12) led the Lions with 16 points, as Yeshiva broke open the game with a decisive third quarter run. On Wednesday the Lions stormed back from a 17-point fourth quarter deficit at Miami Country Day, tying the game at 70 with just over a minute remaining, before falling 77-72 to the Spartans. Jack Kaswan led the team with a career-high 33 points and 8 rebounds, and Daniel Ohayon (Grade 12) added 17 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. The Lions return to action on Saturday, December 6 at 8 pm, when they face Toras Chaim at the MAR-JCC.

The boys' junior varsity basketball team played well at their away game vs. Miami Country Day School. After a strong first half gave the Lions a 2-point halftime lead, the host Spartans recovered in the third quarter en route to a 70-50 MCDS win. Ben Brener (Grade 9) was a force inside for the Lions, finishing with 22 points and 12 rebounds, and Benjamin Givner (Grade 9) added 18 points, as they both helped carry Scheck Hillel to the halftime lead.

Mazal tov to our Middle School boys' soccer team who have earned a spot in the playoffs. Their first playoff game will be Monday, December 8 at 4PM vs. Donna Klein. Lion Pride!
