After 25 years of volunteering at Scheck Hillel, 90-year-old Lottie Yachbes retired on Friday. Lottie a mother to Scheck Hillel alumni, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, has been a fixture on our campus for over two decades. A dedicated volunteer, Lottie has held many roles here at school, helping out wherever and whenever there was a need.
In recent years, she has run the bagel break in our Ben Lipson Upper School. Students loved chatting with Lottie every morning when they picked up their bagels. To show her how much she will be missed, students organized an oneg on Friday to bid her farewell. Today, faculty and staff had the opportunity to wish Lottie well at a gathering in her honor.
Lottie is beloved by the Scheck Hillel community, and though we will miss her smiling face on campus everyday, we wish her the very best in her next chapter.
In gratitude for your service and dedication to our school, we thank you, Lottie, for all you have done for us.
