Grade 4 at Scheck Hillel Community School wrapped up its unit of study about early Florida forts and how they protected the settlers living in the area. Dads were invited to build forts with their children. No tools required!
"It was really fun. It felt like bonding time," said student Amit Miara.
Fathers and students alike had an amazing time as they shared and learned together.
"It made me feel special because my dad changed his business trip just to be with me,” Schay Gilinski said proudly.
Boxes were collected and students brought in odds and ends around the house to use for the forts. The dads had an awesome time spending a stress-free hour away from the office with their child.
"I love seeing my dad having a smile on his face instead of working,” exclaimed Thalia Bentolila.
Thank you to Grade 4 teachers Raquel Heisler, Jenna Kraft and Beverly Silverman for coordinating this amazing, interactive learning experience. Please feel free to visit the forts displayed on campus, or check out the full Flickr album.
